A ceiling access panel assembly (72) has an outer frame (70) configured to be supported on frame elements (18) of a t-grid suspended ceiling support structure (12). The assembly (72) also has an inner panel (58) with an inner frame surrounding a ceiling board (22). The inner frame is pivotally connected to the inside of the outer frame (70) so that the inner panel (58) can pivot to opened and closed positions relative to the outer frame (70). The assembly (72) also has means (42, 45, 46) for releasably locking the inner panel (58) to the outer frame when in the closed position. Fig.11
