A method of removal of an anchor rod from a substrate, wherein the anchor rod has a first end located within the substrate and a second end projecting from the substrate, and at least one helix plate positioned within the substrate, includes the steps of: fitting a driver directly or indirectly to the anchor rod; rotating the anchor rod with the rotary driver so that anchor rod rotates in a direction opposite to a direction of rotation through which it was installed in the substrate.
