-16 Abstract A stair stringer, comprising an elongate stringer body for supporting one or more step / tread members, a header structure attached or attachable at or near one terminal end of the elongate stringer body for supporting and securing the stair 5 stringer to an upper support structure and an anchoring structure attached or attachable at or near an opposite terminal end of the elongate stringer body for anchoring the stair stringer to a lower support structurer, wherein one or both of the header and anchoring structures is pivotally attached to the stringer body to allow pivoting movement of the header and/or anchoring structure relative to the stringer body.
