Rail surface finishing apparatus
A surface finishing apparatus for a rail of a railway track is provided. The apparatus comprises a body displaceable along the railway track, at least one first surface finishing member carried by the body, and at least one second surface finishing member carried by the body and spaced from the at least one first surface finishing member. The at least one first surface finishing member is rotatable relative to the body about a first rotational axis and operable to rotate, about the first rotational axis, against a surface of the rail to remove fouling from the surface whilst the body, and thereby the at least one first surface finishing member, is displaced along the track. The at least one second surface finishing member is rotatable relative to the body about a second rotational axis and operable to rotate, about the second rotational axis, against the surface of the rail to remove further fouling from the surface whilst the body, and thereby the at least one second surface finishing member, is displaced along the track.
