A clamp 4 suitable for use in securing a toeboard 3 in scaffolding, comprising a laterally extending slot 7 with an associated first screw fastener 9 and an upwardly extending slot 5 with an associated second screw fastener 6. The clamp 4 is formed such that the laterally extending slot 7 can be manoeuvred by hand to extend around a longitudinal edge of a scaffolding deck or a scaffold cross bar and the first fastener 9 then be screw turned (eg by hand) to secure the clamp 4 to the deck or crossbar. The toeboard can be stood up in the upwardly extending slot 5 and the second fastener 6 screw turned (eg by hand) to press against the toeboard 3 to secure it to the clamp 4.
