A scaffold tube clamp has a pair of body portions defining a top portion and a bottom portion that are hinged together and that are adaptable about a scaffold tube. A rotatable bolt is received through a hole in the top portion and a hole in the bottom portion. The lower end of the bolt is provided with an engagement means to releasably secure the bolt to the bottom. The head of the bolt has a lower surface engageable with the surface of the top. The lower surface of the head and the surface of the top engaged therewith have complementary ramp configurations such that the ramps engage when the bolt is rotated, causing the ramps to move the top toward the bottom. In an alternative embodiment, the bolt is provided with two sets of threads having different diameters and different pitches, and is threadably received within the holes of the top and bottom.
