A fastener for retaining a wire on a fence post is provided, the fastener comprising: a hook including a proximal end and a chamfered distal end, the hook defining a lateral cavity; and an eyelet, the eyelet continuous with the proximal end of the hook, the eyelet defining a vertical aperture for accepting a screw, the eyelet including a bottom with at least one protrusion extending outward therefrom. A kit and a method are also provided.
