Improved fastener for palisade fencing
A steel bolt 10 for use in constructing palisade fencing, consisting of: a fully or partly threaded shank 50 and a conical or frustoconical head 20, pointing away from the shank, the base of the head 22 (figure 2) having a bearing surface of greater radius than the shank. The bearing surface may have gripping protrusions 30, which may be prismatic and angled for gripping upon tightening, which further may be angled at 30o to the bearing surface. The bolt may have a property class 4.8 or below according to ISO 898. The bolt may be of size M6, M8, or M10. The bolts may be used in a kit of parts for constructing palisade fencing comprising: a plurality of said bolts; a plurality of nuts for said bolts; two or more fence rails with apertures for the said nuts/bolts; a plurality of stiles with apertures for the said nuts/bolts.
