The invention discloses a water-borne ultrathin type fireproof heat insulating material and a preparation method thereof. The water-borne ultrathin type fireproof heat insulating material comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 20-40% of puffed basalt particles, 15-30% of water, 35-60% of composite resin, 1.5-3% of a stabilizer, 0.5-1.8% of a dispersant, 0.2-0.5% of a leveling agent, 0.2-0.5% of a thickening agent, 0.2-0.5% of a defoaming agent and 1.5-3% of a heat insulating material MAS. The water-borne ultrathin type fireproof heat insulating material disclosed by the invention is green and environment-friendly, does not release formaldehyde, benzene and other harmful gases, and is stable in performance and high in fireproof heat insulating quality. The water-borne ultrathin type fireproof heat insulating material is simple in preparation process and wide in application range, the problem of high manufacturing cost of EPS, XPS and cement foamed heat insulating plates is solved, meanwhile the working strength and stress of constructors are relieved, the construction difficulty during measuring of special shaped structural parts, cutting of plates and the like by the constructers is reduced, and the construction cost and constriction difficulty are reduced at the same time.
