The invention discloses a protecting device for a width-reduction oil cylinder of a spreading machine. The device comprises protecting sleeves which sleeve a barrel and a piston rod of the width-reduction oil cylinder and can move along with the piston rod of the width-reduction oil cylinder; the bottom parts of the protecting sleeves are connected with a telescoping part of the width-reduction device of the spreading machine through a fixing frame; pipeline sleeves through which hydraulic pipelines enter are arranged above the protecting sleeves, wherein the pipeline sleeves are in parallel to the protecting sleeves and communicate with the protecting sleeves; a sleeve which sleeves the telescoping part of the width-reduction device of the spreading machine is arranged at one of the ends of the protecting sleeves and is fixedly connected with the protecting sleeves and the pipeline sleeves. With the adoption of the protecting device for the width-reduction oil cylinder of the spreading machine, the piston rod of the width-reduction oil cylinder cannot contact with the materials during working, so that the piston rod of the width-reduction oil cylinder can be effectively protected, and the hydraulic system can be avoided pollution.
