The invention discloses a method for preparing a cobalt ferrite magnetostrictive material from waste lithium ion batteries in a low magnetic field and belongs to the technical fields of recycling of the waste lithium ion batteries and preparation of magnetostrictive materials. According to the key points of the technical scheme and the method for preparing the cobalt ferrite magnetostrictive material from the waste lithium ion batteries in the low magnetic field, the cobalt ferrite magnetostrictive material with higher magnetostrictive property is prepared from the waste lithium ion batteries by virtue of a sol-gel-hydrothermal coupling method in the low magnetic field. By the method, the recycling of the waste lithium ion batteries is achieved, the energy is saved, and the environment is protected; and the prepared cobalt ferrite magnetostrictive material has higher magnetostrictive property in the low magnetic field and has more significant applications in pressure sensors, actuators, non-contact sensors, sonar probes and magnetic ejection devices.
