The invention relates to a lightweight ceramic plate and a composition for preparing the lightweight ceramic plate. According to the lightweight ceramic plate, ceramic ground sludge is used as composition of raw materials, waste for producing CO2 when heated is used as a foaming agent, and glass fiber baghouse dust is used as a fluxing agent. The ceramic ground sludge, 0.5-5 wt% of the waste for producing CO2 when heated and 1-20 wt% of the glass fiber baghouse dust are uniformly mixed and the mixture undergoes processing and forming to prepare a plate, and the plate is heated to generate a foaming effect so as to prepare the lightweight ceramic plate. By polycrystallinity of the ceramic raw material and fluxing performance of the glass fiber baghouse dust, the foaming body shows a microcrystalline structure of raising mechanical strength, and the problem that the plate is broken due to thermal expansion during the cooling process is avoided. Further, foaming temperature range of the ceramic ground sludge is broadened, and consistency of density after foaming is raised. Thus, the low-cost and low-density lightweight ceramic plate is formed.
