The invention relates to a multifunctional handrail used for a staircase. The multifunctional handrail comprises an upper fixed bracket and a lower fixed bracket which are fixedly connected with a wall of the staircase, wherein the upper fixed bracket is fixedly connected with an illumination lamp which is powered by an indoor circuit and is used for illuminating the staircase; the lower fixed bracket is vertically provided with a grab bar which conveniently provides grabbing points to people when people go upstairs and downstairs and improves the safety; the lower end of the grab bar is hinged to the lower fixed bracket; the upper end of the grab bar is fixedly connected with the upper fixed bracket by a bolt. The multifunctional handrail used for the staircase, provided by the invention, is provided with the illumination device and is vertically hinged to the grab bar which conveniently provides grabbing points to people when people go upstairs and downstairs and improves the safety, so that the occupying space of the handrail is greatly reduced, the safety of going upstairs and downstairs is improved and the illumination function is increased.
