The invention provides a liquid ejecting head which is environmental friendly and which has high relative dielectric constant, a liquid ejecting apparatus, and a piezoelectric element. The liquid ejection head includes the piezoelectric element having a piezoelectric layer and electrodes provided on the piezoelectric layer. The piezoelectric layer is 3 [mu]m or less in thickness. The piezoelectric layer is made of a piezoelectric material containing a perovskite compound including bismuth manganate ferrate and barium titanate. The piezoelectric layer is preferentially oriented with the plane.
