The invention discloses a multifunctional roadblock device based on vehicle weight limiting detection and a detection method of the multifunctional roadblock device. The multifunctional roadblock device comprises a bottom plate and a transverse beam, wherein the transverse beam is used for dividing the bottom plate into a detection region and a passing region; a plurality of detection units are arranged on the bottom plate located in the detection region in parallel; two motors are arranged on the bottom plate in the passing region; a main shaft of each motor is provided with a baffle; the other side of each baffle is connected with the transverse beam by a rotary shaft; the baffles are driven by the rotation of the main shafts of the motors to rotate along the rotary shafts on the transverse beam; the intelligent roadblock device further comprises a control unit; the control unit comprises a single chip microcomputer, and an A/D (Analogue/Digital) converter, a motor driving module, an alarming module and a display module which are connected with the single chip microcomputer. According to the multifunctional roadblock device, the detection units, the control unit and the baffles are matched so that the weight detection, stopping and permission of vehicles are automatically finished; the whole process does not need manual intervention; the multifunctional roadblock device has the characteristics of diversified functions, convenience for operation, high efficiency, accuracy in positioning, long service life of the motors and the like.
