The invention discloses an intelligent roadblock device based on vehicle weight limiting detection and a detection method of the intelligent roadblock device. The intelligent roadblock device comprises a bottom plate and a transverse beam located on the middle part of the bottom plate, wherein the transverse beam is used for dividing the bottom plate into a detection region and a passing region; a plurality of detection units are arranged on the bottom plate located in the detection region in parallel; two motors are arranged on the bottom plate in the passing region; a main shaft of each motor is provided with a baffle; the other side of each baffle is connected with the transverse beam by a rotary shaft; the baffles are driven by the rotation of the main shafts of the motors to rotate along the rotary shafts on the transverse beam. According to the intelligent roadblock device, the detection units, a control unit and the baffles are matched so that the weight detection, stopping and permission of vehicles are automatically finished; the whole process does not need manual intervention, the operation is convenient and the efficiency is high; the weight of the vehicles in the detection region can be accurately measured through the induction of a plurality of pressure sensors; a stopping block is protected and limited by a horizontal stopping bar and a vertical stopping bar, and the intelligent roadblock device has the characteristics of accuracy in positioning, long service life of the motors and the like.
