The invention discloses a stairway edge construction protective barrier and a mounting method. The stairway edge construction protective barrier comprises vertical rods, an upper transverse rod and a lower transverse rod, wherein roots of the vertical rods are distributed along a stairway edge at intervals; the upper transverse rod is placed on the tops of all the vertical rods; the lower transverse rod is connected to middles of all the vertical rods; the upper transverse rod comprises a straight transverse rod and elbows connected to ends of the straight transverse rod; the elbows are inserted in the ends of the straight transverse rod or sleeve the ends of the straight transverse rod; and superposed sections of the elbows and the ends of the straight transverse rod are locked by bolts. The stairway edge construction protective barrier comprises the vertical rods, the straight transverse rod, the elbows and flat steel which are fixedly connected to one another through bolts; the stairway edge construction protecting barrier is convenient to assemble and disassemble; various portions of the combined construction protective barrier can be manufactured in a factorization manner; waste caused by truncation of materials can be avoided; and moreover, the elbows are connected to the ends of the straight transverse rod through the bolts, the angles of the elbows can be freely adjusted by releasing the bolts, the elbows are connected to the ends of the straight transverse rod through sleeves, so that the length of the whole upper transverse rod can be adjusted to a certain degree, and the stairway edge construction protective barrier is suitable for stairways with different lengths.
