The invention discloses a building leak-stopping agent and a preparation method thereof, the leak-stopping agent is prepared by mixing 3-5% of polyurethane, 0.8-1.0% of ethanol, 1-1.5% of thickening agent, 1-3% of curing agent and 5-10% of chalk. The method comprises the following steps: placing polyurethane and ethanol in a stirrer for mixing and stirring for 30 minutes, melting, adding chalk powder for stirring for 20 minutes, adding a thickening agent and a curing agent for stirring for 30 minutes. The leak-stopping agent can be finely combined with cement mortar, and has the advantages of high leakproof intensity, simple operation, utility and environmental protection.
