The invention relates to a straight ruler suspension structure for a high speed railway track measurement instrument. A cross beam and a longitudinal beam of the track measurement instrument have a fixed connection relationship ordinarily, measurement wheels and traveling wheels are positioned on the same plane, and recessing or bulging data cannot be acquired. The straight ruler suspension structure comprises a measurement part and a traveling part, wherein the measurement part comprises the cross beam; the traveling wheels are arranged at two ends of the cross beam; each measurement wheel is arranged on the inner side of the corresponding traveling wheel; the traveling part comprises an upper cross beam cover plate arranged at the top of the cross beam; the front and rear ends of one side of the upper cross beam cover plate are connected with an upper longitudinal beam cover plate through an inter-beam locking device; a traveling wheel is arranged on the inner side of the end part of the upper longitudinal beam cover plate, and a guide wheel is arranged on the inner side of the traveling wheel; the cross beam of the measurement part is suspended on the traveling part and the upper cross beam cover plate through a middle suspension shaft. According to the straight ruler suspension structure for the high speed railway track measurement instrument, the cross beam can rotate around the suspension shaft in the upper cover plate; when a recess or a bulge is formed between the front traveling wheel and the rear traveling wheel of the longitudinal beam, the measurement wheels at the end parts of the cross beam can abut against the track to acquire geometrical information, so that the comprehensive smoothness detection of the track is completed.
