The invention belongs to the fields of special building material preparation and industrial solid waste comprehensive utilization and particularly relates to a copper tailing baking-free brick and a preparation method thereof. The copper tailing baking-free brick comprises the following components by weight percent: 55-80% of copper tailing micro powder, 8-15% of cement, 7-20% of aggregate, 0.1-0.5% of additive and 4.9-9.5% of water. The preparation method comprises the steps of performing dry mixing, wet mixing, compression moulding, natural curing or autoclaved curing. By adopting the copper tailing micro powder, the copper tailing baking-free brick is simple in preparation process and low in generation cost. The obtained copper tailing baking-free brick is good in sound insulation effect and thermal insulation heat retaining property, strong in durability, low in water absorption and high in compressive strength and rupture strength, and various performances all meet the national architectural material industry standard.
