The invention discloses a preparation method of a red-mud-based high-sulfur tailing solid waste baking-free brick, which comprises the following steps: (1) mixing red mud, high-sulfur tailing powder and water, heating, preserving heat and continuously stirring; carrying out solid-liquid separation after the reaction is finished, and washing, drying and grinding an obtained solid product to obtain a pretreated mixture; and (2) mixing the alkaline liquid obtained by solid-liquid separation with the washing liquid obtained by washing, and then adding alginic acid powder for neutralization. And then carrying out solid-liquid separation, and collecting a liquid phase to obtain the mixing water. And (3) taking the pretreated mixture, fly ash, aggregate, Portland cement and a water reducing agent as raw materials, then adding the mixing water to form slurry, performing compression molding on the slurry, and performing maintenance to obtain the baking-free brick.
