The invention provides an unsaturated carboxylate monoester shown in a formula 1). The invention also provides a preparation method and an application of the unsaturated carboxylate monoester. In addition, the invention also provides a polycarboxylate water reducer obtained by taking the unsaturated carboxylate monoester as a polymeric monomer. In the provided unsaturated carboxylate monoester, alkali hydrolysis-resistance capability of ester bond is obviously enhanced, while preparing the polycarboxylate water reducer, the obtained polycarboxylate water reducer can keep a more complete polyether side chain structure, a more complete comb-shaped structure is kept, and concrete applicability of the water reducer, especially slump value can be obviously increased.
