The invention discloses a novel connecting piece for cross rods of a fence. The novel connecting piece comprises a main body, wherein a coating layer is arranged on the surface of the main body; at least one group of connecting pieces are arranged; each group of connecting pieces are formed by two connecting piece units which are vertically overlapped; each connecting piece unit comprises an upper top plate, a lower bottom plate, a left side plate, a right side plate and a back side plate, wherein each back side plate is respectively connected to the corresponding upper top plate, the corresponding lower bottom plate, the corresponding left side plate and the corresponding right side plate; each upper top plate and the corresponding lower bottom plate are parallel and opposite; each left side plate and the corresponding right side plate are parallel and opposite; a first through hole is formed in the middle part of each upper top plate; a second through hole is formed in the middle part of each lower bottom plate; the two connecting piece units which are vertically overlapped are connected through a fastener; the connecting piece units are connected to the front lateral surfaces of the cross rods by the lateral surfaces of the connecting piece units through fixed parts. According to the novel connecting piece, a vertical rod is further fixed through extrusion between the cross rods, so that the overall stability of the fence is improved; a zinc coating is coated on the surface of the main body of the connecting piece, so that the corrosion resistant performance of the connecting piece can be improved, and the service life of the connecting piece is prolonged.
