The invention relates to an alkali liquor storage pool used in the rare earth smelting industries of gallium, germanium and the like. The alkali liquor storage pool comprises a storage pool body and a pool cover, wherein the storage pool body is arranged in a square pit built by laying acid-proof ceramic tiles around; a layer of thermal insulation material is laid at the bottom of the storage pool body; the pool wall is defined by laying acid-proof ceramic tiles; a concrete pouring layer and a plastic layer are lined on the inner surface of the pool bottom and the pool wall sequentially; the pool cover is provided with a breathing hole; a plastic layer is also lined on the lower surface of the pool cover; an interval is kept between the outer surface of the periphery of the pool wall and the inner surface of the square pit; four communicated grooves are formed in the peripheral side faces of the storage pool body. The thermal preservation and thermal insulation functions are achieved through the air sealed by the four grooves ingeniously, and the problems that old storage tanks are high in equipment cost, form block deposits and are poor in safety protection performance are solved.
