The invention relates to silicon carbide ceramic materials, in particular to a method and a device for blocking an end face of a silicon carbide honeycomb ceramic carrier. The method comprises the steps: mounting a special blocking mould on an extruder, and respectively extruding a blocking stock into porous channels of two end faces of the silicon carbide honeycomb ceramic carrier by utilizing the special blocking mould. The special blocking mould is in a disc shape, the shape of the end face of the special blocking mould is matched with the shape of the end face of the silicon carbide honeycomb ceramic carrier, bulges matching the porous channels of the silicon carbide honeycomb ceramic carrier are distributed on one end face of the special blocking mould, the bulges and the porous channels of the silicon carbide honeycomb ceramic carrier are separately distributed, and a through hole is formed in the middle part of each bulge vertical to the end face of the special blocking mould and is used for allowing the penetration of the blocking stock. According to the technical scheme provided by the invention, the special blocking mould matching the silicon carbide honeycomb ceramic carrier is utilized, so that the blocking efficiency and the blocking effects of the two end faces of the silicon carbide honeycomb ceramic carrier can be effectively improved, the blocking yield is improved, and the great application prospect is achieved.
