The invention relates to a fireproof sheath for protecting a bridge stay rope. The fireproof sheath comprises a high polyethylene sheath layer sleeving the stay rope; a protection mechanism is arranged outside the high polyethylene sheath layer; the protection mechanism comprises four protection units; the four protective units are evenly arranged in the circumferential direction and connected end to end; each protection unit comprises a limiting part, a main body and an engagement part; a cavity of which the section is triangular is arranged inside the engagement part; a clamping groove matched with the engagement part is formed in the tail of the main body. The sheath for protecting the bridge stay rope is designed into the engagement structure, and therefore, the stability and the firmness of the structure are improved, and the protection strength of the stay rope against fire is also improved; besides, the temperature of the fire center part is reduced, the damage to the stay rope due to the fire is reduced, the repair cost is decreased, and the service life of the bridge is prolonged.
