High-strength high-porosity YB4 superhigh temperature porous ceramic and preparation method thereof
The invention relates to high-strength high-porosity YB4 superhigh temperature porous ceramic and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing Y2O3 and B4C powder by using a wet method, drying, performing dry-pressing molding, performing boron thermal reduction reaction in vacuum, and performing vacuum high-temperature partial sintering, thus directly obtaining the high-strength high-porosity YB4 superhigh temperature porous ceramic. The preparation method is simple in process and high in practicability; no surface dispersing agent, foaming agent or high-temperature sintering aid is needed in the process. The prepared porous ceramic has the advantages that the purity is high, the phase content of YB4 is 100wt%, and no impurity phase exists; the porosity is high and the porosity range is from 60% to 70%; the compression resistance is high, and the strength ranges from 7MPa to 20MPa. In addition, the boron thermal reduction reaction temperature is low, and is more than 150 DEG C lower than that of a conventional method; organisms such as a foaming agent and a surface dispersing agent are not needed.
