The self-thermal insulation building block comprises the following raw materials by mass: 400-450 parts of cement, 25-80 parts of neutral zirconium-containing silica residue, 1-140 parts of quartz sand silt, 1-2 parts of calcium stearate, 4-10 parts of a water reducing agent and 1-2 parts of polypropylene fiber. The self-thermal insulation building block provided by the invention has the advantages of no secondary by-product, waste utilization and environmental protection, no need of autoclaved curing, fast strength development, short production cycle, substantial reduction of production cost, and further slow increase of later strength without decline. Thus, the product has good long-term mechanical properties, also the building block water absorption rate is less than 18%, and the frost resistance and durability are good.
