The invention discloses a novel polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent and a preparation method thereof, a water reducing composition and a concrete. The structural formula of the water reducing agent is disclosed in the specification, wherein, R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are respectively selected from H or CH3, n is 25-40, m is 35-55, a, b, c and d are positive integers, and M is a monovalent cation. The polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent disclosed by the invention has better effects than common polycarboxylic acid water reducing agents, and can lower the consumption, thereby lowering the production cost. In the farther embodiment, the doping amount of the water reducing agent can be adjusted within a wide range without causing any quality problem in the concrete preparation process. The novel polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent can not generate precipitate in the compounding process.
