The invention relates to a refractory material, particularly a silicon carbide refractory material. The silicon carbide refractory material is characterized by comprising the following components in parts by weight: 45-52 parts of magnesium oxide and calcium oxide raw materials, 8-15 parts of silicon carbide, 12-14 parts of quartz sand, 0.2-6 parts of magnesium-zirconium alloy, 3-8 parts of magnesium aluminum silicate and 2-5 parts of binder for carbonous refractory materials. The silicon carbide refractory material provided by the invention compromises oxidation resistance, high temperature resistance, molten slag permeation resistance, thermal shock resistance and productivity.
