The present invention relates to a formula of a refractory material, and particularly to a refractory material containing silicon carbide. The refractory material containing silicon carbide is characterized in that the formula of the refractory material containing silicon carbide comprises the following components in parts by weight: 45-52 parts of magnesium oxide and oxidizing calcareous materials, 1-2 parts of aluminum silicate fibers with a diameter of 2-4 microns and a length of <=1 cm, 8-15 parts of silicon carbide, 12-14 parts of quartz sands, 0.2-6 parts of an Mg-Zr alloy, 3-8 parts of magnesium aluminum silicate and 2-5 parts of a binder for carbon-containing refractory material. The refractory material containing silicon carbide prepared by using the technology of the present invention considers oxidation resistance, high temperature resistance, slag penetration resistance, thermal shock resistance and productivity.
