The invention provides a cage type steel bar connector with a cone and a construction method thereof. The cage type steel bar connector comprises the cone, wherein a through hole is formed in the cone; the circumference of a large-diameter end of the cone is connected with one end of an inclined supporting rib; a plurality of longitudinal supporting ribs are uniformly distributed in a range of 360 degrees; the diameter of an outer wall where the plurality of longitudinal supporting ribs are uniformly distributed is the same as the outer diameter of the large-diameter end of the cone; the other end of each longitudinal supporting rib is connected with a supporting ring; a cylindrical framework is connected with an annular supporting rib; a grid-shaped barrel is formed by connecting the cone, the inclined supporting rib, the longitudinal supporting ribs, the annular supporting rib and the supporting ring; a plurality of space grids are distributed on the circumference of the grid-shaped barrel; a metal sleeve is mounted outside the space grid-shaped barrel. A preparation method comprises the following steps: putting a columnar mold into a barrel cavity and pouring concrete at the periphery of the columnar mold; taking out the columnar mold; and pouring the concrete into a connection hole to finish the construction. According to the cage type steel bar connector, the structure of the steel bar connector in the prior art is completely changed so that the disadvantages in the prior art are overcome.
