The sealant is prepared from, by weight, 20-30 parts of glass wool, 15-25 parts of quick lime, 25-35 parts of perlite, 20-30 parts of gypsum powder, 5-7 parts of sodium silicate, 200-220 parts of deionized water, 50-60 parts of sand, 20-30 parts of bauxite, 10-20 parts of magnesium sulfate, 15-25 parts of calcium sulfate, 20-30 parts of polystyrene, and 8-10 parts of lubricant. The sealant has the advantages that technological process is simple, raw materials are reasonably proportioned, preparing method is simple, the high-quality sealant is provided for a cable, raw materials are easy to obtain, flame retardancy is realized, damage to a sheath caused by overhigh temperature of a cable core is avoided so that safety accidents can be prevented, using effect is remarkable, and reasonable use of the cable is guaranteed.
