The invention provides a sandstone hardening and brightening agent and a preparation method thereof. The agent permeates, reacts and forms a film on the sandstone surface so as to quickly plug the gaps on the rough sandstone surface and form a compact, transparent and hard protective film on the surface, thereby greatly overcoming the severe defects of large gaps, high differentiation tendency and the like in the sandstone.
