A door latching device has a latching motor connection switch, a converter line section containing a converter power source unit, a latching motor, and a latch. The converter line section is connected to the input side of the latching motor connection switch, and the latching motor is connected to the output side. The latch is opened by driving the latching motor. On the basis of an instruction to open the latch, the latching motor connection switch closes, the converter power source unit starts, and an input voltage to the converter power source unit is increased and output to the latching motor connection switch.
