The invention relates to a concrete additive. The concrete additive comprises, by weight, 8-12 parts of bentonite, 3-7 parts of a silane coupling agent, 3-10 parts of sodium gluconate, 4-7 parts of stearic acid, 6-10 parts of polyacrylamide, 7-12 parts of a polycarboxylate water reducer, 5-10 parts of sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, 6-12 parts of cellulose grafted chitosan, 2-5 parts of methyl cellulose and 1-5 parts of silicon carbide. The additive can be used in concrete containing sand with the clay amount exceeding 6%, allows the slump retaining time of the concrete to reach 1h, and allows the 28d compressive strength to be improved by 20% or above, so the performances of the concrete are greatly improved, and the engineering quality is guaranteed.
