The horizontal type level viscous damper comprises a lower connected bearing element, wherein viscous liquid is contained in the lower connected bearing element; a plate inserting element is also arranged in the lower connected bearing element; the lower part of the plate inserting element is immersed in the viscous liquid; the upper part of the plate inserting element extends out of the outer side of the viscous liquid; an upper connecting element is arranged in the plate inserting element; the bottom of the plate inserting element is provided with a positioning element; the bottom of the plate inserting element is separated from the lower connected bearing element by the positioning element; and an inclined surface is formed at the edge of the outer side of the positioning element. The damper can effectively achieve the effects of seismic absorption and energy consumption.
