The invention discloses a broad-flat type hood opening and closing mechanism which comprises an active driving mechanism and a slave driving mechanism, wherein the active driving mechanism is provided with a horizontal frame, an opening and closing air cylinder, a connecting base, connecting rods and mounting wings; the connecting base is movably mounted on the sliding rail of the horizontal frame, the other end of the connecting base is respectively connected with a pair of connecting rods, and the other ends of the connecting rods are respectively connected with a group of mounting wings; a group of opening and closing railways is arranged under of the mounting wings; the slave driving mechanism is provided with a hanger bracket and a group of mounting ailerons connected to the hanger bracket; the mounting wings are crossed, and the rear ends of the mounting wings are respectively hinged with a group of mounting wing shafts on the horizontal frame; the mounting ailerons are crossed, and the rear ends of the mounting ailerons are respectively hinged with a group of mounting aileron shafts on the hanger bracket. The hood opening and closing mechanism has the advantages of being reliable in structure, stable in running and small in occupied space and is particularly suitable for a motor train unit of which the front end of a cab is broad and flat. The invention further discloses a railway vehicle provided with the hood opening and closing mechanism.
