The invention discloses a processing method of perlite for planting, which comprises the following steps: using the following raw materials in percentage by mass: 72-75% of silicon dioxide, 15-18% of aluminum oxide, 0.5-1% of iron oxide, 2.9-3.5% of sodium oxide, 0.5-2% of calcium oxide, 2.5-3% of potassium oxide, 0.1-0.4% of manganese oxide, 4-6% of water and the balance of pearlite ore sand; preheating in a 350-400-DEG C preheating furnace for 25-30 minutes, adding into an expansion generating furnace, carrying out contact combustion at 950-1000 DEG C to generate expansion, and staying for 1-5 seconds to obtain the perlite for planting. The perlite for planting has uniform and full particles, the water absorptivity is up to 260%, and the continuous water retention time is 96 hours. The perlite for planting has the advantages of high water and fertilizer locking capacity and moderate softness, can be widely used for modifying the soil, adjusting soil hardening, preventing crops from lodging and controlling the fertilizer efficiency and fertility, and can be used as a diluter and carrier for pesticides and weedicides.
