Method for preparing porous silicon carbide ceramics
The invention relates to a method for preparing porous silicon carbide ceramics. The method comprises the steps of uniformly mixing SiC particles with PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral) and ethanol, enabling PVB to wrap surfaces of the SiC particles as uniformly as possible so as to conveniently bond the SiC particles together, and then, putting the mixture into a chemical vapor infiltration furnace (CVI furnace) for CVI, wherein a produced SiC ceramic phase can play a role in bonding SiC particles and filled pores during CVI, then, the strength of components is enhanced, and porous SiC ceramic components of specified shapes are obtained. The porous SiC ceramic material is prepared through bonding SiC particles by adopting a CVI method, the preparation temperature is relatively low, process flows are simple, and complicated members can be prepared; the pore and mechanical properties of the porous SiC ceramics prepared by the method are adjustable, process parameters can be adjusted according to specific requirements, and then, the porous SiC ceramics meeting required conditions are obtained, so that the method has a great application prospect.
