The invention belongs to the technical field of ceramic pigments and in particular relates to a yellow pigment composition of ceramic ink and a preparation method thereof, mainly solving the following problems of traditional pigments: low calcination temperatures, low chromogenic saturation, long working hours and low efficiency. The yellow pigment composition of ceramic ink is prepared from zirconium dioxide, quartz powder, praseodymium oxide, barium fluoride, potassium chloride and ammonium chloride. The method specifically comprises the following steps: (1) mixing the materials; (2) firstly mixing glass powder with low-temperature ceramic frit to prepare glaze, pouring the milled glaze into a saggar, shaking up the milled glaze and smearing the milled glaze on the inner surface of the saggar, wherein the thickness of the glaze on the wall and at the bottom of the saggar is 0.1-1mm; (3) airing the smeared saggar; (4) calcining the materials; and (5) using a micro-pulverizer for treatment after crushing, thus preparing the yellow pigment composition of ceramic ink.
