The invention relates to the technical field of steel structure sliding construction, in particular to a column foot device for steel structure sliding and a construction method thereof. The column foot device comprises a steel column, a steel column base plate, base plate stiffening ribs, a steel rail and steel rail clamping plates. The column foot device is characterized in that clamping plate angle iron and a limiting and fixing device are included; the clamping plate angle iron is arranged on the outer sides of the steel rail clamping plates, and the limiting and fixing device comprises two vertical steel plates, multiple transverse stiffening ribs and hemispherical contact steel plates; the vertical steel plates are symmetrically arranged on the two sides of the steel rail in the length direction of the steel rail and fixedly connected with the bottom face of the steel column base plate, the transverse stiffening ribs are arranged between the steel column base plate and the vertical steel plates, and the surface of the side, facing to the steel rail, of each vertical steel plate is provided with the hemispherical contact steel plates at intervals in the length direction of the steel rail. According to the column foot device, by downwards transferring horizontal reacting force of a steel structure to the two sides of the steel rail, the sliding stability of the steel structure is greatly improved, and then the construction efficiency and safety during sliding construction of the steel structure are improved.
