The invention relates to the public transportation system technology field and provides a public transportation system passenger safety guarantee method. By using the method, a technical problem that safety of a passenger located at a door can not be guaranteed in an existing public transportation system is solved. A public transportation door is provided with a camera and an alarm apparatus. The method comprises the following steps that through the camera arranged on the public transportation door, image information of a passenger congestion condition at the door is collected; the public transportation system determines whether a public transportation door place can accommodate the passenger according to the image information; when a condition that the public transportation door place can not accommodate the passenger is determined and acquired and the camera collects that the passenger crowds into from outside of the public transportation door, an alarm signal is sent to the alarm device and alarm is performed through the alarm device; when the alarm device continuously gives an alarm and an alarm frequency exceeds a preset frequency, the public transportation door is automatically and gradually closed. A technical effect that the safety of the passenger located at the door can be guaranteed is realized.
