The invention provides a system and method for preventing a child from climbing a window and falling. The system includes: a motor arranged on the window and used for controlling opening and closing of the window; and distance sensing equipment which is arranged in the periphery of the window, is in communication connection with a mobile terminal and the motor, and is used for sensing distance between a child close to the window and the window in real time to form distance information, comparing the distance information and preset distance, forming a ringing instruction and a starting instruction when determining that the distance information is in the preset distance range after comparison, controlling the mobile terminal to perform ringing reminding through the ringing instruction, and controlling the motor to start and close the window through the starting instruction. The system provided by the invention starts the motor to close the window and sends information to the mobile terminal to remind an adult when distance between the child and the window falls in the preset distance range, thereby providing dual protection for the child, and effectively preventing the child from danger of climbing the window and falling.
