The invention discloses a refractory brick and a preparation method thereof. According to the refractory brick, industrial wastes including chromium slag, coal gangue, fly ash, waste gypsum, quartz tailing, vanadium and iron waste slag, boron sludge, gold tailings, high-phosphorus tailings, expanded perlite, serpentine, dextrin, starch, sulfite pulp waste liquids and the like are taken as raw materials, the refractory brick with excellent use performance and low production cost is prepared, and the purposes of comprehensive recycling of industrial solid wastes and reduction of the production cost are achieved. The refractory brick has excellent performance index as follows: the apparent porosity is 17%-24%, the volume density is 2.8-3.4 g/cm<3>, the cold crushing strength is 170-250 MPa, the high-temperature breaking strength is 50-65 MPa, and the refractory brick has better thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance.
