The invention provides a sealing material for an electric heating tube and the electric heating tube. The sealing material for the electric heating tube is prepared from, by weight, 50-200 parts of zirconium silicate powder, 0.2-0.5 part of methyl hydrogen silicone fluid, 1-20 parts of active alumina powder, 5-15 parts of epoxy resin and 5-15 parts of fumed silica. A preparation method of the sealing material for the electric heating tube includes the following steps that 1, the zirconium silicate powder and the methyl hydrogen silicone fluid are mixed; 2, the mixed powder is dried; 3, the dried powder and the active alumina powder are mixed; 4, the epoxy resin and the fumed silica are mixed; 5, the material in the step 3 and the material in the step 4 are mixed and then dried; 6, grinding is performed to obtain the sealing material for the electric heating tube. The sealing material for the electric heating tube is simple and scientific in formula, and can effectively prevent moisture from invading and greatly prolong the service life of the electric heating tube when used for sealing the electric heating tube.
