The invention provides an anti-cracking additive. The anti-cracking additive is prepared from 40-70% of slag powder, 10-20% of silicon powder, 5-15% of iron powder, 3-8% of aluminum powder, 5-15% of quartz powder, 1-3% of Danqiangsi, 1-3% of glass fiber and 3-8% of expanding agents. In external wall surface paint of buildings, temperature-fluctuation-resistant tests show that coatings are free of spalling, bubbling, cracking and obvious color changes and the water permeability of coatings is 0.5 mL; meanwhile, impact-resistant tests show that coatings are free of cracking, spalling and obvious deformation; in addition, waste slag serves as the main raw material of the anti-cracking additive, cost is low, the industrial waste, namely, slag, can be effectively recycled and comprehensively utilized, waste can be turned into wealth, and the severe problems that when slag is stacked, the occupied area is large and the environment is polluted are fundamentally solved.
