The invention discloses a polyacrylonitrile pulp-containing aerated building block and a making method thereof. The aerated building block is made from, by weight, 26-44 parts of polyacrylonitrile pulp, 18-34 parts of aluminum ash, 24-36 parts of natural manganese sand, 16-29 parts of blast furnace slag, 5-8 parts of isooctyl glycolate, 22-38 parts of sodalite, 19-33 parts of fungus chaff, 10-15 parts of montmorillonite, 4-7 parts of sodium alginate, 17-31 parts of oil shale waste residues, 32-48 parts of phosphate cement, 18-26 parts of porous ceramsite, 4.5-6.5 parts of aluminum sulfide and a proper amount of water. The polyacrylonitrile pulp added in the invention can substantially improve the mechanical strength, the corrosion resistance and the crack resistance of the aerated building block, and the natural manganese sand, the blast furnace slag, the oil shale waste residues and other raw materials added in the invention can improve the high temperature resistance and the weatherability of the aerated building block. The aerated building block made in the invention has the advantages of excellent comprehensive performances, high mechanical strength, excellent high temperature resistance, excellent corrosion resistance, excellent crack resistance and excellent weatherability.
