The invention discloses a building method of a spongy ecological embankment. The building method comprises the steps that 1, spongy garden waste concrete is prepared; 2, water-permeable bricks are prepared through the spongy garden waste concrete in the step 1; and 3, bottom components are sequentially built on the bottom face of water, bodies are built on the bottom components through the water-permeable bricks obtained in the step 2, and top components are built on the bodies. The invention further discloses the spongy ecological embankment built through the method. The spongy ecological embankment has the beneficial effects of being not likely to be damaged by horizontal thrust, capable of adjusting a water system, convenient to build and low in cost, and has good application prospects in building of spongy cities.
