Provided is a modified sound absorbing material for a building. The modified sound absorbing material is prepared from, by mass, 10-15 parts of ethylene-acrylate, 8-10 parts of hollow glass beads, 3-6 parts of diatomite, 2-5 parts of silicon carbide, 3-7 parts of plant fibers, 3-6 parts of zirconium dioxide, 3-7 parts of wetting agents, 5-10 parts of mica powder, 6-10 parts of organic silicon modified epoxy resin, 3-7 parts of mixed solvent, 5-8 parts of oak tree sawdust and 6-10 parts of attapulgite. According to the technical scheme, the novel sound absorbing material for the building can well absorb most of noise in the environment, a good effect on low sound is achieved, and meanwhile a certain antimould function is achieved.
